2008 2009 Dodge Challenger. This is the Dodge Challenger. With it Dodge hopes to build enthusiasm among car buyers by tapping into its brand heritage. The Challenger may look old-school but beneath the skin its a completely modern automobile. Competing with Fords venerable Mustang and Chevrolets reborn Camaro the Dodge Challenger completes a trio of pony cars that aim to revive the muscle-car wars of the 1970s.

With the automotive industrys current focus on fuel economy and the environment, it might seem like an odd time for Dodge to introduce a tire-spinning, gas-sucking muscle car. Timing aside, Dodge is betting that there are still car buyers who wont mind spending a little extra cash on gas to relive the golden era of American performance. Long Term Dodge Grand Caravan – Kelley Blue Book Van Culture

Dodge Caravan Minivan. It wasn’t so long ago that people cringed when confronted with the fashion of the 1970′s. But with the Disco Decade nearly 40 years in the rearview mirror, the era is experiencing its inevitable irony-driven comeback. So when the Dodge Grand Caravan joined Kelley Blue Book’s long-term test fleet it was greeted with a bit more enthusiasm than one might expect of a minivan. That enthusiasm, due largely to a wealth of optional equipment, also reflected the hope that the Dodge Grand Caravan might act as a portal to another time when custom vans were for the cool kids and not just angry loners. Sure the Grand Caravan does a fine job hauling children to ballet or grow-mulch home from the store, but it performs equally well as an impromptu lounge or for blasting Lynyrd Skynyrd while cruising down the highway with your old lady. Can modern minivans offer enough retro-fabulous mojo to fill the void left by the custom van fad of the 1970′s? It’s a question that deserves an answer and one which kbb.com’s Micah Muzio explores in the following video.

Pontiac G8 – Kelley Blue Book’s Review

When describing the quintessential American sedan, car enthusiasts no-doubt mention V8 engines and rear-wheel drive. So it is surprising that Pontiac, General Motor’s supposed performance division, hasn’t offered that powertrain combination for years. Classic car fans can now rejoice: the Pontiac G8 is a thoroughly modern car that harkens back to the rear-wheel-drive glory days of American sedans.

Having been out of the rear-drive V8 game for a while, Pontiac found inspiration in Australia where high-power sedans have thrived for decades. Essentially a re-badged Australian-market sedan, the G8 delivers a much-needed performance punch for Pontiac, in both V6 and V8 flavors.

Vetted G8: 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP – Sport Truck @ 2008 NYAS

Posted by Conney On December - 4 - 2008

Two words: Corvette power. Yes, the 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP gets the same LS3 V8 as the Chevrolet Corvette. Sure, the GXP’s more restrictive intake knocks the 6.2-liter V8 down to 402 horsepower and 402 pound-feet of torque, but that’s still 41 extra hp and 17 more lb-ft of torque than the 2008 Pontiac G8 GT.

Pontiac says this is enough power to get the new 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP from zero to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds and through the quarter-mile in 13 seconds flat at 108 mph. Not bad for a car that is expected to sticker for “just under $40,000,” according to Brian Shipman, the Pontiac G8′s product manager.
