Jeep Wrangler 4-door
2007-08 models
FRONTAL OFFSET TEST

OVERALL EVALUATION: Good
Structure/safety cage Injury measures Restraints/dummy kinematics
Head/neck Chest Leg/foot, left Leg/foot, right
Good Good Good Good Acceptable Good

Important: Frontal crash test ratings can be compared only among vehicles of similar weight.
Test details:

The Jeep Wrangler was redesigned for the 2007 model year, and a larger, heavier 4-door model was added for the first time.

Restraints/dummy kinematics — Dummy movement was well controlled. After the dummy moved forward into the airbag, it rebounded into the seat without its head coming close to any stiff structure that could cause injury.

Injury measures — Measures taken from the head, neck, and chest indicate low risk of injuries to these body regions in a crash of this severity. Forces on the right tibia indicate that injuries to the lower leg would be possible.

Crash Test 1999 – 2008 Saab 9-5 (Side Impact) IIHS

Posted by Conney On December - 4 - 2008

Saab 9-5
1999-2008 models
SIDE IMPACT TEST WITH STANDARD SIDE AIRBAGS

OVERALL EVALUATION: Acceptable
Injury measures Head protection Structure/safety cage
Head/neck Torso Pelvis/leg
Driver Good Good Acceptable Good Marginal
Rear passenger Good Good Good Marginal

Important: Side impact crash test ratings can be compared across vehicle type and weight categories.
Test details:

The Saab 9-5 was introduced in the 1999 model year. Although engineering changes were made to improve frontal crashworthiness beginning with 2002 models built after November 2001, these changes were not expected to affect side-impact performance.

The 9-5 was modestly restyled for the 2006 model year.
Injury measures:

Driver — Measures taken from the dummy indicate that a fracture of the pelvis would be possible in a crash of this severity. The risk of significant injuries to other body regions is low.

Rear passenger — Measures taken from the dummy indicate a low risk of any significant injuries in a crash of this severity.
Head protection:

Driver — The dummy’s head was protected from being hit by any hard structures, including the intruding barrier, by a side airbag that deployed from the seat.

Rear passenger — The dummy’s head was hit by the pillar behind the rear passenger door and the window glass and window sill of the rear door. The pillar is required by federal standard to provide some protection for occupants’ heads. The impacts with the window glass and sill did not produce high head injury measures, but the head protection is inadequate.
